Study: Courage to Build, Maintain and Restore Relationships

Our primary relationship is with God. We have to know and understand His word in order to properly interact with Him. Once we understand the importance of “right relationship” with God, we pursue it continually. More immediately in our physical world, we have a proper working model of a “good” relationship. Our human relationships are to mirror our primary spiritual relationship. I hope this compilation of God’s Word helps you with your relationship with Him and with people.

Speak Your Truth

What I’ve learned in these recent situations where I have been blatantly disrespected is that the antagonist was lying to me by speaking to me as if I belonged to him, not God. The enemy was speaking to me as if I were of this world and not a citizen of heaven. When my emotional response was discouragement, depression, sadness, anger, resentment, etc. then I was responding in the same spirit that was attacking me.

LaShawnda – Thank you so much for sharing this. I’m sitting here in tears now reading this because I didn’t know how to express how I was feeling. Reading this has touched me very deeply. Yep – I too need love and shouldn’t be ashamed to admit it. It is definitely time for me to also “fold up my petals” in a few places. BUT GOD is good and is clearly asking me to pay attention to some of the wonderful new, nurturing and giving people he has placed in my life. God Bless you for sharing of yourself and your experiences so openly. I continue to be blessed by your writing. Peace & Blessings your way – ~jax.

Hi LaShawnda,

I came across your blog via the christian women blogger network. I love that you were able to take away some lessons from your experience. I particularly like the following statements: “I know she didn’t enjoy a good portion of her life because she was always waiting on something better, something else, someone else…. I’ve been living from her lessons most of my life: enjoy each day as it comes with the people who are present.” and “Relation does not equal relationship.” Those are powerful statements and as a collector of quotes I’m adding those to my list.
