A Vision Of Victory by Pastor William Carrol
The seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in your name!” And he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven. Behold, I have given you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you. Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are written in heaven.”
Jesus Rejoices in the Father’s Will
In that same hour he rejoiced in the Holy Spirit and said, “I thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that you have hidden these things from the wise and understanding and revealed them to little children; yes, Father, for such was your gracious will. All things have been handed over to me by my Father, and no one knows who the Son is except the Father, or who the Father is except the Son and anyone to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.”
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written,
“For your sake we are being killed all the day long;
we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.”
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
“The fact that God loves us is more important than anything else. We are more than conquerors for that reason alone.
Quotes from the sermon:
“We are more than conquerors. We are God’s Beloved. We matter to God.”
“Focus on the fact that you belong to God. What matters to me is that I matter to Him. I’m not going to have a great day every day. But I am always a conqueror! I am not going to win every battle, but I am always a conqueror!”
“It matters what we do, but it matters more who we are. I’m not persuaded by what I’ve done, I’m persuaded by what He’s done. I’m not persuaded by my testimony, I’m persuaded by God’s testimony.”
